George Hopkins and Armina Newton.

Correspondence from Nancy Lorenz - April 2004

First note:

My grandfather, George Benjamin Hopkins was married to Armina Newton. I have a 1930
census record of Lincoln County, Cimarron township, p. 4A that shows two of her daughters,
Elnora and Bessie living in Oklahoma when my dad, Charles Hopkins was about 13 yrs old and
his sister, Etta was 15 years old. I have a couple of pictures of the two of them - Armina &
George (Benny) Hopkins. If you like them, I can scan them and send them.

How are you, Jim, related to her? She would be my step-grandmother. My father's mother died
when he was about 7 years old and then his father remarried probably about 1925-26?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Second note:

Here are some pictures that I scanned of my grandfather, George Benjamin Hopkins and Armina Hopkins.  My grandfather died before I was born so I really don't know very much about him.  I don't think that they had any children though.  He lived in Payne County, OK when he died in 1940.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.

George and Armina Newton Carroll Hopkins

My own notes:

Armina Newton was first married to Charles Cambren Carroll.  According to my sources,
he deserted the family, moving to California.  Armina married George (Benny) Hopkins
about 1924-25.
